As you may have seen on my Instagram stories I will be working more with @countymodern for my personal Instagram feed. 🙂 I’m really excited about this because often I’ll have a blog to get at or company to promote and if it’s just of the kids or product I can take those and it turns out okay but a lot of the time I need to be in them too and then I have to shoot and pray with the self timer or ask a stranger on the street. Not ideal. Lol!
Lucky for me @countymodern and I just happen to be pretty well neighbours at our new home so this is meant to be! Her feed is absolutely lovely and she was wonderful with Ella at @heemans it was as though we were just meeting a friend for coffee. I won’t be able to have her available for every photo I post but I will tag her in the ones she’s helped out with.
I thought I would share a few of my favourite things in Mia’s room before we pack it up and move to our new home. 🙂 Recently, we received two items from Lorena Canals, the area rug and the cozy pink pompom blanket. I am really excited to see how this will look in her new room, I imagine it being a comfy yet stylish spot for her to play. The very best part about Lorena Canal Rugs is that they are washable! When the rug arrived, Ella had eaten something sugary and green from Daddy and it got all over her hands and eventually on the rug. I’m happy to tell you everything came out clean and the carpet looked as good as it did when it arrived.
The infamous Swan that I hid from Rick for over a month before Mia’s first birthday because he didn’t think we needed another stuffed animal and was he ever wrong 🙂 When I came across the swan at HomeSense, it immediately reminded me of Mia. It was soooo hard for me not to give it to her right away! She loves to climb on it and it makes a cute decorative piece in her room.
Wild Flower Fawn is a company that I have been following on Instagram for some time. Tonya creates beautiful handmade dolls and I am always so blown away by her talent and creativity. I had been keeping my eye on her designs for some time until this particular doll with a bow in her hair popped up on my feed and I knew she was the perfect one for Mia. I will eventually get one for Ella too, I really think these handmade dolls are something they will treasure.
Mia’s dress by Olivia Rose. Every dress that we have by Olivia Rose is special to me and this one in particular is extra special because Mia wore it in our photo shoot at Lavender Bridal Boutique. Even though she was sick that day, she looked like an angel and brought smiles to everyone in the room. The memories of that day will stay with me forever.
We’ve created so many memories in this little nursery and I’m happy that we are able to take pieces of it with us.
For May long weekend, I took Ella and Owen to Viamede Resort to have a little one on one time with them while Dad was away kayaking. We did have some rain while we were there and weren’t able to enjoy the outdoors as much as we would have liked but we did have the same amount of fun doing other activities indoors. The first night we arrived, the kids coloured while I cooked dinner and we enjoyed our pasta together on the patio. We usually take advantage of excellent food at The Boathouse restaurant located on site but I decided to cook for the kids because they were having so much fun playing with each other. Sitting outside with them was really relaxing and we watched the sun go down cuddled up on our blanket, it was a lovely way to start our weekend.
While it rained, the kids and I played board games together, played ping pong and spent a lot of time at the pool! Owen used to be so terrified of the water and now all he wants to do is swim! It was so nice to see him enjoy it! Ella did more observing than swimming but she did help me count how long it took Owen to swim from one end of the pool to the other. 🙂
The weather was gorgeous as we woke up for our last morning at Viamede. We started the morning playing at the beach and after I did a little paddle boarding while the kids played on the playground equipment and attempted to build sandcastles. I really loved watching the kids use their imaginations! The kids would make up their own games, play tag and Owen was “digging for lava”. Viamede is the ultimate outdoor playground for the family and we only did a quarter of the activities Viamede has to offer. Rick loves the on-site Frisbee Golf course so I saved that for him and kids for when we come back again.
I always imagine us buying a cottage, but with Viamede having everything that we need at our fingertips. This might just become our family cottage-getaway each year instead.

It has been over a year since the launch of Baby Be Mine and I am blown away by the positive response it has received. Your emails and messages about how Baby Be Mine has helped with your little one’s dry skin, to helping with cradle cap and even stretch marks. I have been on cloud 9 reading all of the great feedback and you have me walking on clouds, I’m so happy you love it!
When I thought about expanding the line and what I would do next, I got stopped in my tracks after noticing that there were so many other women who were in much need of a moment to self-care and relaxation that instead of expanding Baby Be Mine, I wanted to create a sister line for every woman named after my daughters Ella Elaine and Mia Rose.
The daily stresses of life at any stage, whether it be school, your job, or family life, can all be overwhelming at times and often we put everything else before ourselves. My hope with this line is that you will take some time to self-love and self-care. Spoon a heap of Ella Rose in to your bath, wait for the angels to start singing then dive in.
This line is dedicated to you. Shop Ella Rose by visiting www.babybemine.ca
