Couples getaway to Mont Tremblant

Fashion, Food, Motherhood, Travel

Rick and I have been so busy with the kids and different side projects lately that when Mont Tremblant asked to host us, we decided a couple’s getaway was just what we needed before the holidays. Since we only had the weekend, we decided that flying with Porter would be the easiest way to travel. The flight was only an hour long and we were there in no time to enjoy all the activities that we could fit in.

What to do during the day:

Tour the village, do some shopping, go ice skating or hit the slopes! There is something for every time of year and age group  (see past posts Our Trip to Mont Tremblant and What Summer is like in Mont Tremblant) but with all the snow they have had and runs they had already opened, our heart was set on skiing. We toured the mountain with our private guide Guy, and it was a great way to venture out to places we had not been before and learn more about this breathtaking mountain.

Where we ate:

We both agreed that on this trip we had THE BEST food we have ever had in Mont Tremblant. For lunch, I suggest Le Q.G. which is right in the main village. We had calamari and beef tartar to start, followed by steak and fries for myself and Rick had the fish of the day. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly – it’s a must for your next visit!

For dinner, I suggest Altitude Restaurant located in the Mont Tremblant Casino. It was a quick shuttle ride from the hotel and besides the fantastic food that we ate, you can stay, play and make a night of it!  We sat down to dinner at Altitude, ordered a bottle of wine, and listened to the performers sing as we were served dinner. Rick and I ordered the Octopus to start and for our main courses Rick ordered the AAA Sirloin Blue Cheese Steak and I had the Slow cooked AAA Prime Rib. For Desert, you could eat as many sweets as your heart desired at the dessert table. It was all fantastic!

After dinner, we had fun playing a selection of virtual games before heading over to the tables to test our luck at black jack and roulette. We ended our night by the dance floor with the clubs personal DJ, it was an evening we have been talking about since we’ve been home.

Where to relax:

The following day we had the pleasure of experiencing the Scandinavian Spa Mont Tremblant which is a 5-minute cab from the village. For a couple getting away for the weekend, this was the perfect way to relax and unwind on our final day. When we arrived, we were informed about the benefits of their spa’s hydrotherapy baths, and we went from cold pool to hot pool, then from cold pool to the relaxation rooms. This hot and cold cycle helps to both energize and rest your body and improves blood circulation. It also helps to release your endorphins. Rick was brave enough to take a dip in the river which was only about 2 degrees Celsius for one of his cold cycles.  At first, I could barely put a toe in the cold pools (lol), but once I did, I almost immediately felt the benefits. By the end, it was me saying “Okay, are you ready to go back in?”  It’s amazing.

Back at home, I realize even more just how much we needed this getaway. We are recharged, refreshed and ready to take on the busy holiday season ahead.

Thank you Mont Tremblant! See you again soon!
